ARCHIVES & FAMILY TREE RESEARCH
The Methodist Church holds a remarkable collection of records relating to its history and development and the Bede Circuit's own collections are vast.
Included in the collections are church records that include Baptism and Marriage Registers, Trustee Accounts & Minute Books, Minutes of various meetings, committees and avenues of church & society work as well as a growing photographic collection.
The bulk of our collection is stored at Tyne & Wear County Archives and may be viewed by visitors to the Archives with a valid Record Office Readers Ticket. A small number of documents are closed to the general public in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 2018.
Enquiries to view the collection should be addressed to the County Archivist at Blandford House (Tel: 0191 232 6789).
The Newcastle upon Tyne Methodist District Archives are likely to move to premises within the Bede Circuit during the latter part of 2018 and will be open by appointment only. Details will appear here.
